Potential Disaster Averted by the Rapid Response of the Baker Team

BakerSituation
One of the largest construction projects in the Los Angeles basin was being built on and around an environmentally sensitive area, the Ballona Wetlands. Great care was required in each phase of the project as a delicate balance between development and environment exists. Baker Tanks was selected to supply five Open Top Steel Tanks for captured ground water during construction. After capture, the ground water would then be treated and released to the municipal system for further treatment. The job was progressing smoothly when suddenly the managing environmental company was unexpectedly overwhelmed with more groundwater than their treatment system could handle. Storing the ground water was their only choice and the situation was growing more precarious by the hour.

BakerSolution
Baker Tanks received the call on Sunday evening requesting additional tanks. By Monday morning the groundwater situation had grown more precarious and concerns focused on potential harm to the environmentally sensitive wetlands. This is the type of situation where Baker earns its reputation. Over the course of an 18-hour period, six Baker drivers delivered and installed over 25 tanks to the site. Working hand in hand with the Operations Manager a major problem was avoided.

BakerResults
Baker's expertise allowed the project to continue on schedule. The customer was extremely impressed with the availability of equipment and responsiveness of the branch. Although they had other options – several competitors were already on the site – they chose Baker Tanks because of their expertise and ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
